German Army NH90 TTH Achieves NAHEMA Qualification

Eurocopter is pleased to announce the Qualification of the German Army NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter - TGEA Variant. The award ceremony took place at NHindustries on Friday 31st March 2006 at the end of a ‘Review Executive Meeting’ where NAHEMA, a NATO Agency, officially granted the first Qualification to a NH90 TTH Variant. This qualification is a significant step towards the entry into service of NH90 within the Armed Forces that have already selected it for their military requirements. NH90 Qualification is an essential milestone that, through a process of delta qualification, will lead to the Qualification of the others NH90 National Variants.
NH90 is a groundbreaking multi-role helicopter that applies the world’s most modern technologies and systems to the diverse requirements of military operators. To date, NH90 has been contracted by 11 Nations for 16 Armed Forces, has been selected by 3 additional Nations and is currently being assessed for selection by a number of other Countries. NH90 is a twin-engine, medium helicopter equipped with full glass cockpit, Fly-by-Wire control system and advanced automatic Flight Control System together with state-of-the-art Communication, Navigation and Mission Equipment. It features a full composite crashworthy fuselage fitted with a rear ramp for higher flexibility.
NH90 German Army TGEA Variant includes a few specific National Operational Customisations mainly in the Communication field.
NAHEMA represents the governments of France, Germany, Italy,The Netherlands and Portugal for the NH90 helicopter programme and controls the overall execution of the programme on behalf of the customer.
NHIndustries is the Prime Contractor for design, development, production and logistic support of the NH90 helicopter. It is responsible for the Programme Management of NH90 contracts and is supported by a Joint Guarantee signed by its Partner Companies, AgustaWestland, Eurocopter, and Stork Fokker.
