Computer Spies Breach JSF Fighter-Jet Project

According to current and former U.S. government officials, terabytes of data related to design and electronics systems of the $300 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighter project has been copied by computer spies.

The hackers were able to retreive the data by exploiting vulnerabilities in computer networks of 'two of three contractors', the Wall Street Journal writes. Recently, the same paper reported hackers had penetrated the U.S. electricity grid.

Officials stated both the Chinese and the Russian attempted to 'map' the electrical grid. Former U.S. officials say the attacks on the F-35 contractors appear to have originated in China.
