DUBAI—Sweden's fighter plane manufacturer Gripen is ready to offer attractive and flexible offset financing package to its Middle East, Asia and Africa customers, said Brigadier (Rt.) Owe Wagermark, Communications Director of Gripen International.
Speaking to Khaleej Times yesterday , Wagermark said, "The aging fleet of F-16s, Mirages and Russian made fighter aircraft are due for replacement. We are obviously a contender in this highly competitive market," he said. Middle East, Africa and India together have an estimated fighter plane market worth over $70 billion, which includes replacement of older generation fighters and new demand from the region's airforces.
Gripen, a part of Sweden's SAAB group has been exhibiting at the Dubai Arishow for the past two editions. "In the previous editions we had stands giving out information. This year we have brought two models which are demonstrated to various airforce agencies from the region," he said.
